360 bikeflip to tailwhip?
Michael Beran is without doubt the best Czech BMX freestyle rider out there. Beran – ‘Berry’ to his friends and fans – made it to the finals of high profile contests early in his career, including the BMX Masters and Vans Rebel Jam events. During the winter, he travels from Europe to the US where he can train at the world famous Woodward facility and ride with the world’s elite.
First hooked on BMX in 2004, he is now a fully-fledged member of the sport’s top professionals. In 2010 he made the podium in a whole host of contests, including a spectacular first place in the Hard Trick category at the Vans Rebel Jam. He also took the top honours in the Best Trick contest at the Nike 6.0 BCN BMX Pro event in Barcelona, Spain for his bikeflip from tailtap to tailwhip.
He has since taken home plenty more metalware, including from Simple Session 2013, where he grabbed second place in the BMX thanks to his history-making 360 bikeflip to tailwhip.
“I was born to do something, and I choose BMX,” says Beran, and we’re sure he couldn’t have made a better choice.
